    3. Hi everyone, To record interviews, I'm looking at buying either a voice recording MP3 or a digital voice recorder. My intention is to record interviews, edit and save to CD. I understand that digital vioce recorders produce better recording than MP3. I was wondering if MP3 produce acceptable voice recording and can be saved to CD? Thanks, Wayne.

    3. Hi, Having a big problem (for me). Can't right click on a link to open in a new window. Computer just goes back to the e-mail I am trying to connect from. I have WinXPk, HP Compaq. Connected to CenturyTel ISP and IE. Think I have that all right. My Grand son downloaded some music stuff on Monday and I have had nothing but trouble eversince. Have run NAV, Spy Sweeper etc. and up dated everything I could find that needed updating. When I click on an e-mail, it goes to the page and then immediately goes back to another site that has nothing on it. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? 3. LCD screens are designed for one resolution, they can do other resolutions but with some interpolation. That is, they can display the high resolution because there are that many 'bulbs' on the screen, the lower resolutions have to light two bulbs for some of the pixels, so that the about every fourth pixel up and down would have to have two bulbs lit and about one of every five across would have to be two bulbs. I suppose that they are arranged so that the multiple 'bulb' pixels don't line up to cause every fourth or fifth line to be wider. With LCD, more than CRT, the native resolution will probably be the clearest, If you like the lower resolution, you can suit yourself. You may find a way to shut off the reminder by right clicking on a vacant spot on your desktop and select Properties, browse around. (I think most video boards have a bit different menu there.) You can maybe change the font size so that it is easier to read in that same area. ---Properties -- Settings -- Advanced -- General -- DPI settings (With this ATI board.) Alfred D. 3. Hi Doris, It is, unfortunately. Didn't you say that this would not permanently remove Yahoo? You were right, it's still there "re-clicked" with the tick mark after I start up. As CCleaner finds its way around the operating system, it seems possible that it is designed to stay, no matter what. Isn't that how CCleaner collects from Yahoo? Let's face it, money changes hands with each successful download of Yahoo Toolbar. Yahoo.com has a whole list of people asking how to uninstall Yahoo Toolbar. My guess is that the answer would only come from CCleaner, and they are impossible to contact. They download through Filehippo.com, who collects donations, and who also can't be contacted. The only help I've had comes from this list. 1. [GEN-COMP-TIPS] Yahoo Toolbar / John
    2. John Contratto
    3. I am certainly glad that I did not download Yahoo toolbar and am very pleased to find so many people involved in this subject. I have extracted several instruction pages from the Yahoo web site. Based on what I have read on this mail list the instructions given by Yahoo are a joke. John C. How do I remove Yahoo! Toolbar for Internet Explorer? There are two ways to uninstall the Yahoo! Toolbar for Internet Explorer. Option 1: Via the toolbar() Select "Uninstall" from the Pencil button (Toolbar Settings). Click "Uninstall" on the uninstall page. Close any open IE windows. When you restart Internet Explorer, Yahoo! Toolbar will no longer be present. Option 2: Via the Control Panel Click the Windows "Start" button. Select "Control Panel" from the "Settings" menu. Double-click on "Add/Remove Programs". Scroll down and click on the "Yahoo! Toolbar" entry. Click on "Change/Remove." Close any open IE windows. Yahoo! Toolbar is now uninstalled. Please start IE again after closing all your open IE browser windows and it will no longer be present. If you follow these steps and Yahoo! Toolbar is still present, make sure you've closed all your open IE browser windows. Due to Internet Explorer being integrated with Windows, you might need to restart your computer to fully uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar. If you like the functionality of Yahoo! Toolbar, instead of removing Yahoo! Toolbar, you can hide Yahoo! Toolbar or move Yahoo! Toolbar so that it takes up less space in your browser. How do I remove Yahoo! Toolbar for Mozilla Firefox? There are two ways to remove the Yahoo! Toolbar for Mozilla Firefox. The easiest way is to use the "Uninstall" menu item: 1.. Click the Pencil menu. 2.. Click "Uninstall". 3.. Enter any feedback you'd like to send to Yahoo! about why you're uninstalling the toolbar. 4.. Click "Uninstall". 5.. Restart your browser. If that doesn't work, you can also use the Extension Manager in Firefox to remove the Yahoo! Toolbar extension: 1.. Click the "Tools" menu in the Firefox browser. 2.. Click the "Extensions" menu item. 3.. In the Extensions Manager window scroll until you find the Yahoo! Toolbar extension. 4.. Click the Yahoo! Toolbar extension. 5.. Click "Uninstall". 6.. Click "OK" in the "Uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar" window. 7.. Exit Extensions Manager and restart your browser. Either one of these methods will uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar from your browser. If neither works, your user profile is corrupt. You might need to create a new user profile for your browser.

    3. As an experiment I installed the Yahoo toolbar on my Mozilla Firefox browser and found that despite my best efforts with setting my preferences for the browser, the Yahoo toolbar took control. Every time the browser launched, Yahoo wanted to make the Yahoo site into my home page - I didn't. After declining Yahoo's offer each time I launched, I de-selected the Yahoo toolbar in the View - Toolbar menu. To un-install the Yahoo toolbar completely, as I believe has been suggested before in this thread, I clicked the Pencil button on the Yahoo toolbar and selected un-install. (BTW, the Pencil-like icon/button is only visible on the Yahoo toolbar when the Yahoo toolbar is ticked in the View/Toolbar menu.) I had previously installed the Yahoo toolbar on my Internet Explorer browser but did not have the same problems as above, though I only use IE to test web pages. 1. [GEN-COMP-TIPS] Modem speed adjustment
    2. Hi listers, I'm still using a dial-up modem - 56 whatevers. Operating system is XP. Tried to copy a music CD recently which involved automatically downloading information about it. The program I was using - either Real Player or Windows Media Player - I know I tried with both and I've forgotten which one did the damage - told me I'd have a better result if I switched to 28 whatevers. So I clicked the box. Now my download speed is very slow for everything and I can't find how to change it back. I may be in front of myself here as I'm assuming this is the cause of my real problem. I can't connect Thunderbird to my ISP. Well it connects, but it times out before it downloads even one message. I've spoken to the ISP and have all the settings correct, but they have advised to get the modem speed sorted out. Do hope someone can help.
