Hi Alexander, The usual name of this family is De Hertaing van Marquette (they were originally seigneurs of Marquette in Hainault), but I will follow the spellings of the original records even when they are wrong. Apolonia Frederika, daughter of Louis Daniel van Hartaing [sic] de Marquette and Bartha Catharina Bitter, was baptized 10 October 1741 in the Westerkerk, Amsterdam, with sponsors Apolonia Coessaart wed[uw]e Bitter and Fredrik van der Does, Heere van Alblas[serdam] & Heemstede (Amsterdam DTB 110:682). Louis Daniel d'Hertaing de Marquette and Bartha Catharina Bitter also appear as parents in other Amsterdam baptismal records through to 1746, Louis Daniel van Hertaing de Marquette, van 's Gravenhage, aged 30 years [thus born 1705-06], living on Den Amstel, accompanied by his mother Maria Magdalena van Appelthorn, and Bartha Catharina Bitter, van Batavia, aged 22 years [thus born 1713-14], accompanied by her mother Apolonia Coesart, were betrothed 13 April 1736 at Amsterdam (Amsterdam DTB 578:216). According to I. H. van Eeghen, "Het Huis met de Hoofden," Amstelodamum Maanblad 38 (1951): 137-41, at p. 138, Bartha Catharina Bitter died 25 January 1751 at Amsterdam; the burial followed on 30 January (Amsterdam Begraafregister Index; original record not checked). Apolonia Coesaart and her husband Arnold Bitter appear to have had only one child baptized at Amsterdam: Johanna Apolonia, baptized 3 April 1726 in the Zuiderkerk, with sponsors Cornelis de Graat, and Johanna Maria [van] Riebeek (Amsterdam DTB 101:118). Apollonia Coessart served as baptismal sponsor to Jacob Fredrick, son of Jan Noach du Fay and Anna Levina Leenderts, on 19 December 1717 in the Zuiderkerk, Amsterdam (Amsterdam DTB 100:267), and this provides a clue to her husband's background. From K. L. van Schouwenburg, "Over de Nobel's: Genealogie en geschiedenis," De Nederlandsche Leeuw 103 (1986): cols. 5-53, it can be seen that Anna Levina Leendertsz. was a daughter of Andries Leendertsz. by his first wife, Maria Ockens, and a stepdaughter of Bartha Bitter, b. 10 July 1661 at Harderwijk, d. 9 November 1711 at Batavia, daughter of Mr. Joan Bitter and Barta Eygels. These last persons, then, were presumably the parents of Arnold Bitter, and a Google search retrieves a number of items which strongly suggest that this is true. Earlier generations of the Bitter-Eygels ancestry can be found in "Kwartierstaat Mallien-Leyssius," http://sennewini.blogspot.ca/p/kwartierstaat-mallienleyssius-vtm-xx.html. I am not descended from this family myself, and have not checked other sources.
