Be sure to click on "Juliana's links" also. There is a social security death index included that may be useful. Sometimes you may want to start using a search engine such as Yahoo. Include in your search at least the word "genealogy Texas" etc. You will be given numerous other links, which you may want to use. Some sources are free, some or not. Once you find suitable sites, you can further narrow your search down to counties, surnames, etc. A search engine such as Lycos has a "People Find" category if you are looking for living persons. There are a few other sources for tracking down people. These services may, or may not include who you are looking for. Some are free, other are not. You may want to register the surnames you are looking for once you find a suitable site. For example, there is an African American surname registry at the following: http://member.aol.com/afriamgene/surnames Please keep in mind your relative must also be registered for a possible connection. The surname listings have yielded nothing in my case. If there is a genealogy library in your area, you may use some of their cd rom data bases for your search. They are generally subscribers to some of the links you must pay for on your on when searching at home. If you live in Texas, you can find anyone with a Texas driver's license.
