    1. [GEIGER-L] Stone Arabia, New York
    2. In today's edition of the Missing Links newsletter there was a very interesting article which included some information on the town of Stone Arabia, NY which I had asked about previously on the list. Apparently the town had a major German influence and at least some of its history involved Hessian soldiers. I quote below just a tiny portion of the information about Stone Arabia from the lengthy article. "Steinrabi, now called Stone Arabia, an old German community in the Mohawk valley of Montgomery County, New York State. If you look at today's maps you'll find Nelliston and Palatine Bridge instead. This German speaking village had several churches, one of them the Palatine Lutheran Trinity Church of Stone Arabia. They also must have had a German speaking or teaching school" Joan
