Dear Geiger Cousins, First, to each of you who have written me directly, I will be responding back to each of you personally. Second, I am sending this in a variety of ways, because we have not been able to resolve the problem I am having with my e-mail bouncing back from GEIGER Rootsweb, even though we have disabled our HTML/MIME text. Hopefully this will reach those of you who will benefit from the information. Deborah Callicott Green Cove Springs, FL Callicott@pobox.com ____________________________________________ The following information is taken from "Bulloch County, Georgia , Genealogical Source Material " by Alvaretta Kenan Register , published 1985 by Magnolia Press, P.O.Box 3, Swainsboro, GA 30401 ; ISBN 0-916369-00-5; Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 84-63067 {we purchased this book at the Statesboro Public Library and the courthouse strongly recommends using this prior to doing research at the courthouse} These are the abstracted records for all the Geigers on file at the Bulloch Co. Courthouse in Stateboro, begining in 1796 when Bulloch Co. was created from Screven and Bryan Counties. Prior to 1796 Screven was carved out of Burke and Effingham counties and Bryan was carved out of Effingham, Chatham, and Liberty Counties. In 1812, Bulloch lost some of it's land to the formation of Emanuel, in 1914, more of it's land went to the formation of Candler and Evans Counties. I will include collateral families as I come across them. ___________________________________________ Deed Book A 1796-1805 Page 5, Sept.7, 1795.
