Eleanor, I am glad you were able to actually check those census records--the index I was using was the Broderbund index for Westmoreland for 1810 which only shows the John Geiger in Washington Township--no other Geigers are shown in Westmoreland in 1810. The index shows 2 Henry Geyers--one in Greensburg and the other in Hempfield and a George in S. Huntingdon. So my confusion is resulting from omissions in the CD I guess and not actual omissions on the census itself. Were the spellings for all of those Geigers I am missing--GEIGER? Or might the problem be one of creative spellings that I had not checked? Now if we could find Benjamin Geiger on the 1800 census we would have a better idea in tracking his migration. I guess I cannot trust my Cd Index for that year either. I will have to check the actual printed Index for Geiger for 1800. Joan
