Sara, Christian Geiger was able to read and write and his handwritten signature in his will in May 1779 is exactly the same as his handwritten signature on the ship list upon his arrival in Philadelphia in 1737. It is amazing to me that the signatures from so many years apart match so well. That alone suggests to me that Christian was not totally incapacitated even 3 days prior to his death. Joan
