Hi, Joan & Everyone: Yes, I believe these culprits to be my Kyger family...if the time period is between 1801 and 1833. I was told that James Kiger kept the spelling of Kiger, whereas the rest of the family were spelling their name Kyger. Right now, I don't think that Daniel could read or write. I'm not sure on this point. However, his sons could, so maybe they decided to stick with the latest spelling. However, there are accounts where there were meetings at the home of Daniel Cigar or Ciger and a little later it was spelled Kyger. So, maybe it was the person keeping minutes of the meetings. I've been gathering descendants of Daniel's family with hopes that one day they might have that little piece of information. So far, it seems that I have as much if not more information so far. I retrieved a document regard Pioneer Days in Danville, IL and it listed James Kiger as a 'first pioneer' so I have no real proof, so far that he went back to IL. Henry and John went into the mill business. By that time, Daniel was an old man. After all, he lived to be 87 years old. Hope this helps.
