Their funds for this project is derived from two yearly craft shows on the Furnace grounds. One in the spring and the other in the fall. The one in the fall is their biggest and draws quite a sizable crowd. Geigertown (or Geiger's Mills as it was originally known) was renamed in 1940 to the present name. Geiger's Mills was named as such for the many grist mills owned by the Geiger family. Most of them are in ruins only one that I am aware of is still standing and is within the city limits of Geigertown. It is no longer a working grist mill, but is used mainly for storage.
