Susan, Mary Phillips posted a message to the Geiger list on July 10th (which I am forwarding to you privately as the other list members have already seen it). She is also looking for Geigers in Wayne County, GA at roughly the same time period you are--the two of you need to put your heads together to determine any connection. Both of you need to get in touch with Deb Callicott at callicott@pobox.com as she is most likely also connected to this same general Geiger family--due to intermarriages with the same allied families. I think basically these Geigers all descend from the Orangeburg, SC Geigers who arrived in the 1730s and 1740s from Switzerland. A branch of this family moved into Georgia and this branch descend from Hans Ulric Gieger born 14 May 1729 in Berneck, Switzerland and Appolonia his wife. The two sons of Ulric and Appolonia are: Abraham born 11 June 1761 and Felix born 30 September 1763. Abraham is known to have had a son Cornelius. I hope when Deb, Mary, and you come up with the answers and connections you will see that the information is posted to the list as a whole as there may also be others interested in this Geiger family.
