Hi all, I just joined this list and this is my first posting although I have corresponded with Joan some months ago. The GEIGER line I am researching is as follows. Some is unproven. Jacob(?) GEIGER, b@1780 MD, m. Mary CARROLL (poss.dau of Charles CARROLL), had several children including Jacob, b.@1800, m. July FREE. Moved to Westmoreland Co.PA according to family where they had at least one child: Daniel Free GEIGER, b. 7 Oct. 1827, d. 4 Dec. 1910, in Pittsburgh,PA. July died in childbirth or shortly thereafter and Daniel Free G. was reared by the FREE family. After Daniel Free GEIGER m. Mary CASSIDY they had the following children: Jane-Jennie GEIGER, b.@1853, d.@1928, m. Robert JAMISON. Anna Free GEIGER b. 1 Sept. 1858?, d. 29 Mar.1930. She married Henry Chignell DIGBY. Richard Holden GEIGER, b.@1858, d. 1 Apr.1936.m. Mable GILLIGAN. He was an opera singer. Mary "Mollie" Stephenson GEIGER, b.21 Feb. 1861, d.31 Mar. 1917, m. Richard T.MILLER. Rebecca Margaret GEIGER,b.11 Aug. 1866, d. May 1903, m. Charles Avery JOHNS. Gertrude Jeannette GEIGER, B. 19 July 1873, d. 24 Oct. 1945. m. John Douglas CHERRY. Most of the people above lived in Pittsburgh areas of Mt. Washington, Duquesne Hts,Oakland. I would like to fill in some gaps, get more information on when the family came to the then colonies, and possibly find any descendants. I have names of some descendants. Thanks.
