His Casper Geyer >was in Westmoreland and the family was allied with the Beelers--which is >what is making me wonder about a possible connection in this case. > I think I can safely say that there is no Benjamin GEYER in Westmoreland County, PA, during the period in question. There are two Geyer families in early Westmoreland Co. One was my Casper's family in Rostraver township. All of this family except one married daughter, Mary Fell, moved to Ohio by 1815. There was no Benjamin in this family until after their arrival in Ohio. The other Geyer family(ies) seem to all be descendants of Johann Wilhelm Geyer. I am developing a fair early history of this family and there is no Benjamin in his family. I noticed that Benjamin and Catharina Geiger had three children baptized in First Lutheran Church, Greensburg, PA, on 22 or 28 Sep 1811. This sounds like a newly arrived family. Even though Benjamin Geiger may have made a land purchase in 1806, he may not have moved his family to Westmoreland County until 1811. This would explain his absence from the 1810 census. > 1806 - Peter Bealer to Benjamin Gigher (may or may not be the right > Geiger) - Land in Hempfield Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA I don't have enough information on the Beeler family to explain who Peter Bealer is. >John Geiger in Washington Twp., Henry Geyer in Greensburg Borough, Henery >Geyer Hempfield Twp., or George Geyer in S. My information is still a little shaky outside of Casper's family. One of the Henry's is surely a descendant of Johann Wilhelm Geyer. I cannot be sure of any of the others. They could go either way. Even though I have fair understanding of the names of the descendants of Johann Wilhelm Geyer, I don't yet have a good handle on where they were.
