Biographical Annals of Berks County, Pennsylvania contains a biography on page 1333 for Lewis J. Geiger who was a well known hotel man in Berks County and was the proprietor of the �Schuylkill Avenue Hotel" in Reading. He was born in Hamburg, (Berks County) son of David Q. and Mary Byar Geiger. The biography states that the Geiger ancestry can be traced to a Jacob Geiger, great-great-grandfather of Lewis J. The article says that Jacob lived in Fruitville, Limerick Township (Montgomery County). This Jacob had two sons Jacob and Conrad who inherited a sugar plantation in Cuba said to be �left to them by their ancestor in Cuba.� Conrad died in 1868-69.
