Hello, all, from hot & steamy southern Virginia [over 95 deg. 2 of last 3 days], I'm a new subscriber to Geiger-L, although I received The Kiger Konnection for several years up until it was necessary to pay for a subscription [I may still do that, if it's available]. Unlike most of the messages I've read on this list so far [in the last 36 hours or so], I have KIGER/GEIGER/KEYGAR spellings in my family tree [one of the few branches I know much about on my mother's side]. My apparent line of descent is as follows [possibly incomplete or containing errors since I'm copying from an old pedigree work sheet]: 1... Mathias KEYGAR [no dates/places on work sheet] m. Anna Mary UNKNOWN [no dates/places on work sheet], and had son, 2... John Henry GEIGER [b. 1744, d. 12 Oct. 1806, no places listed on work sheet] m. Barbara UNKNOWN [b. 1745, d. 13 June 1808, no places listed on work sheet], and had son, 3... Matthias KIGER, Sr. [b. 3 Dec. 1775, Salem, NJ, d. 10 May 1857] m. Rebecca LINDMEYER [b. 31 May 1783, Gloucester, NJ, d. 13 June 1860], and had son, 4... Matthia KIGER, Jr. [b. 1807, Mannington Township. Salem, NJ, d. 1 Sept. 1889, location unknown] m. Ann/Anna ROBINSON [b. 4 Oct. 1810, Salem, NJ, d. 27 Jan. 1898, location unknown], and had daughter, 5... Anna Rebecca KIGER [b. 9 May 1852, Salem, NJ, d. 20 Oct. 1936, Ocean City, NJ] m. James Wilson BEATH [b. 27 May 1849, Philadelphia, PA, d. 22 Jan. 1914, Philadelphia, PA], and had daughter, 6... Elva Edna BEATH [b. 12 Oct. 1890, Philadelphia, PA, d. 26 July 1925, Brooklawn, NJ] m. James Henry DILG [b. 2 Feb. 1891, Philadelphia, PA, d. 20 Oct. 1941, Philadelphia, PA], and had daughter, 7... Edythe Carolyn DILG [my mother, still living], m. (2) Richard B. ANDERSON, Sr. [my father, still living], and their son is, 8... Richard B. ANDERSON, Jr. [me, just turned age 41 a few weeks ago]. With that in mind, I would love to hear from any KIGER/GEIGER descendants from that same line, especially if they can help me fill in gaps about the LINDMEYER, ROBINSON, BEATH, and DILG families [allied families to this KIGER/GEIGER line]. I have a limited amount of information already about brothers/sisters to my direct line, but little else about these families [at least without going into my computer database and/or my paper files -- which need major reorganizing at the moment 8-(]. Best wishes, Richard Blair Anderson, Jr., Danville, Virginia USA r.anderson@d-k.com
