    1. Re: [GEIGER-L] Isaac Kiger
    2. In a message dated 98-06-09 12:17:24 EDT, you write: > have you checked the AIS for Isaac? I can if you have > not. Helene, this might come in handy for other list members also to know this so I am sending to all. Someone sent me a text file (a huge text file) of all census indexes that were included in the Broderbund census CD-ROMs for all Kigers, Geigers and variant spellings. Of course those CDs may not include all that you have access to since not all years for all states were included on those CDs. I would be happy to check for Geigers and Kigers and other variants of this surname on the census indexes I have--I have most states for 1790 on up to 1860, and some up to 1870 (for a few states) but nothing later than that. I do have the information for Isaac from the 1830 PA census and that is the last he can be found there with the family structure I stated in my original message. I am trying to see just which of the Isaac Kigers (or perhaps his name evolved to a different spelling when he moved?) who show up later would fit with what we know about this Isaac. My assumption at this point is that this particular Isaac Kiger is the son of Charles Kiger and Susanna (possibly Hochstetler). This Kiger family is almost certainly descended from Valentine Geiger of the Ittlingen, Germany Geiger family connected to the Henckels of Pennsylvania. I would expect to find this particular Isaac naming sons Charles, and maybe Benjamin, and possibly James and Nicholas--after his father and presumed brothers. He would most likely be naming daughters Susanna and Elizabeth after his mother and sister. So I guess you could say that I do know where Isaac Kigers can be found in 1840 across America but I am looking for one who might fit the pattern above as well as a birth date around 1800. Thanks for any help! Joan
