I can explain part of the above in that Eva, widow of this Samuel, was Eva Oldfather. This Samuel is a descendant of Christian Geiger. > > Finally, in the 1840 Clinton Co, Chester Twp, OH census is a Samuel > KIGER (page 321) > as follows: MALES: 1-0-1-1-0-0-1; FEMALES: 0-1-1-1-2-0-0. I think we can safely say that this is a completely different Samuel Kiger. He was also on the 1830 census living in exactly the same township as listed above for 1840. I believe he is the same Samuel who lived in Madason Township, Licking County, Ohio in 1820 and is on page 38. The only other Kiger or Geiger that was in Licking County in 1820 was an Anthony Giger. I am curious about both of these men--I am not sure what family or families they belong to. Anyone have any ideas? Joan
