I am searching for information on my great great grandfather, John GEIGER. He was born in Wuertemburg ca 1839. His parents and siblings are unknown as is his exact birthplace. I do know that he was in Cincinnati, Ohio by 1860 when he enlisted in the Union Army. His military records do not have any additional information other than he was born in Germany and was 21 years old. He married Elizabeth GEISER (not a misspelling) 28 Feb 1865 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Cincinnati. Among their children were Anna Francesca (my great grandmother) and Magdalena. John died 29 December 1884 in Cincinnati and is buried at St. Joseph German Catholic Cemetery. His occupation was that of a cooper. In census records, cemetery records and again military records, his birthplace is listed as either Germany or Wuertemburg. If any of the above sounds familiar please contact me. Thank you.
