Russ, I agree that I have about given up on the possibility of a connection to "the" Fielding family for Fielding Kiger. But I do think it is possible that the original surname here MAY be something other than Geiger (not saying it IS, just that it MIGHT be). This is sort of like that female given name of Leota that I (here on the east coast) had never heard; that people in western PA and in the midwest found to be common! Live and learn. Joan
