August Geiger, my Husbands, grandfather, I just found, came to US on the Normandie, from La Harvre, France. He was Born in Germany Arrived NY 16 Jun 1884. He is listed as a butcher going to Missouri. We know his future wife, Aline or Alena DeBrunner' her father, Albert was a butcher who lived in Highlands Ill (she was b there in 1871) Since this is very close to St. Louis, wondering if they married in Highlands? They later came to Sacramento, CA (found in 1900 Census) he was a brewmaster at the Buffalo Brewing Company. He had a nephew/cousin Rudy who lived in LA area. Rudy also had sons. One of his sons returned to Germany sometime in last 30 years, married and probably still lives there. Story is they were from Black Forest Area and family were butchers. Anyone who has info on this Geiger family please contact me.
