    3. Stephen (Not Samuel) Riggs was the husband of Rachel Martin, daughter of John A. Martin. Allen Bethel who married Abigail Riggs was the son of Felix Jr, (not Sr.) Felix Sr. married Mary Martin daughter of John A. Martin of Bulloch/Bryan/Effingham Counties of GA. Felix Sr. was born in SC, not GA...The 1767 Royal Land Grant on the Great Ogeechee which Ulrich received contained a statement that he had four children when he migrated from SC. These are supposed to be Abraham, Felix (Sr.), John, and Mary as they are listed as Heirs when the property was sold in 1814. Cornelius was also listed as an heir, but the Ebenezer Record Book lists his birth year as 1774... >From: Maryp5243@aol.com >Reply-To: GEIGER-L@rootsweb.com >To: GEIGER-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [GEIGER] Samuel Riggs...and daughter Abigail Riggs >Date: Mon, 27 Dec 2004 08:32:30 EST > >Your message on Samuel Riggs is very timely - as I just received this >message >(below) on the Riggs list. 3. Mary knows that, Gerry. She meant to say Stephen. Good idea to reaffirm it, though. However, Allen (Bethel) GEIGER was a son of Felix, SR. and Mary MARTIN. Felix, JR., was his next younger brother. I have the sibs as: Jacob S. (c. 1797), John Martin (1798 - my ancester), Rachel (c. 1800), Allen Bethel (26 Oct 1802 - Mary's ancester), Felix, Jr. (6 Feb. 1804), Mary (1 July 1806), and perhaps Margaret (betw. 1814 and 1816). I don't have proof that Margaret belongs in this family. My too-brief notes only say: < From Dot Miller: "Archibald H. JOHNS, born May 12, 1810, married 1. Margaret PREVATT; 2. Margaret GEIGER; 3. Addie ROBERTS. Margaret Geiger and Archibald had six children." The 1850 Florida census, Columbia Co. (29 October), shows on page 60-A, line 12, family 198: "Archibald H. JOHNS, 40 M, farmer, $1,000, b. GA; Margaret Johns, 36 F, b. GA; Jacob Johns, 15 M, b. FL, John H. Johns, 9 M, b. FL, Irvin Johns, 8 M, b. FL, Jeremiah Johns, 6 M, b. FL, Mary M. Johns, 4 F, b. FL, Laura P. Johns, 1 F, b. FL." Note: If this is the Margaret GEIGER who is the daughter of Felix GEIGER, SR., she seems a bit young for her sibs, who were born from 1798 to 1806. > I'm not sure we agree on the order of birth of Ulrich's first 4 ch., but anyhow, don't forget No. 5, Rachel, b. 1769 (Ebenezer Record Book), d. perhaps before 1815 settlement of her father's estate. Her older brother Felix, Sr., gave a daughter that name in abt. 1800. Cornelius was No. 6. 3. My memory sometimes gets short, so I apologize...I thought Mary knew better, but I did not want to let an error pass...goodness knows we have enough out there without contributing to them. I was not overlooking Rachel, just that she is not listed as an heir in the 1814 Transactions, but that the Land Grant Application mentions four, whatever the order...which I agree is not fixed... >From: "R.
