    1. RE: Dikes
    2. Gerald Gieger
    3. I am so glad you contacted me... For some time, I have heard that Martha Dikes was a Gieger, however, I have been unable to identify or link her with any known family...As far as I know, Benjamin is buried somewhere else, and there are only three graves in that cemetery, albeit a longtime local resident told me that there is also a slave cemetery in the immediate vicinity...so there could be other graves which are not identified...If you saw the photos on the web, you know how dense the woods are... As far as I know from family lore, Eleanor Jane (wife of Zachariah) is the daughter of Martha, albeit some think that she is the stepdaughter of Benjamin...That is a collateral line to me, and I do not know for sure, but there are some cousins who descend from Zachariah that might want to take up the search again, now that you are on the scene...They had hit a brick wall and stopped or delayed until something or someone surfaced...You may be that someone... I will share all that I have; Gerry >From: "Richard Johnston" <rjohn@bayou.com> >To: <giegerg@hotmail.com> >Subject: Dikes >Date: Tue, 18 Jan 2005 20:19:50 -0600 > >Hello, > >Found your Bethel Page.
