James Geiger and Elizabeth Hoyer Geiger had 4 sons: Jacob Theodore Geiger (1849-?), John Luther Geiger(your g-grandfather), Luther Geiger (no dates), and Lewis Albert Geiger (my g-grandfather)(1855-1921). Lewis Albert married Martha Jane Rettew (from whom Annie Rettew Hunter is descended and my grandfather received his middle name) and they had 3 sons, Leonard Freshcoln Geiger (1883-1950), Arthur Albert (1890-1952), and Smith Rettew (my grandfather)(1894-1965). I suppose the one interesting thing we share is our distant relationship to John Updike, from Shillington (near Reading, PA), whose mother's maiden name was Hoyer.
