    1. [GEIGER] Geiger-Murf Families
    2. I have another Geiger and Murff connection. My gggggrandmother was Elizabeth Murff Geiger, born July 11, 1778 in Edgefield County, South Carolina and died Sept. 10, 1855 in Jasper County, Georgia. I have her father as John Murff, who was killed at the Battle of Cowpens in the Revolutionary War in 1781. Her mother was Elizabeth Kaigler Tyler. Elizabeth Murf married John Randolph Geiger on March 27, 1796 in Orangeburgh District, SC. John Randolph Geiger was born Feb. 15, 1773 in Orangeburgh District, SC. He died Jan 18, 1836 in Effingham County, GA. John Randolph was a son of Herman Geiger, Jr. (1738-1790) and Lavinia Kaigler. John Randolph Geiger and Elizabeth Murff had six children that I know about: Harmon Horlbeck Geiger, Sylvia Geiger, John Jacob Geiger, Mary Margulia Geiger, Washington Whitfield Geiger, and Salome Geiger. They mostly lived in and around Jasper County and Newton County in Georgia. Washington Whitfield Geiger moved to Florida. Skip Kitchens
