I think you've got something there, Gerry. In fact in the Ebenezer Record Book, Rieser and Kiefer names were mixed up a couple of times. I always found this curious because of Ulrich Geiger having his name spelled Kyser in that first deed. (As you all know an "s" was spelled as an "f" back then.) Unfortunately, we may have more questions. Michael Rieser (Balthazar's brother) had a wife named Appolonia. She could not have been our ancestor because she was busy having her own children when Abraham and Felix were born. There was, however, an Appolinia Kiefer who married Matthew Biddenbach in 1778 -- the year after Ulrich died. Appolonia Kiefer is mentioned in 1757, 1759 and 1760 as a sponsor at baptisms, but no other mention by her first name until her marriage to Biddenbach.
