Ottelia Jaekle in Buesslingen, Konstance, Baden. Family came to America aboard the ship Superb, Rotterdam to New Orleans, arriving 14 Apr 1848. (See www.macatawa.org/~devries/superb.htm for passenger list) Family was in Highland Twp, Franklin, IN (little town of St. Peter) in time for the 1850 census. Child Catharina Geiger married first Herman Rosfeld, then Barnhard Otten. Otten family supposedly moved to Iowa after the 1880 census. Barnhard is said to have died after only a short time in Iowa and Catharine returned to Indiana with the children. I'm seeking information on the origins of Herman Rosfeld and, especially, Barnhard Otten. Barnhard was born 1835 in Bavaria and came to America sometime prior to 1872.
