Page 64 of the "Ebenezer Record Book, 1754-1781" by Jones & Exley says: "Cornelius, son of _____ Geiger in Ogeechee and wife, was born Feb 1, 1774, and Baptized July 18, 1774. Sponsors were Mr. Rister and his wife." This is undoubtedly Cornelius, son of Ulrich and Apollonia, because they were living in 'Ogeechee' next door to Frederich Rester and wife Maria Margaretha, who moved to GA at the same time as Ulrich. His adjacent Land Grant was issued concurrently with Ulrich in 1767. >From: "James Ford" <jlfchat@earthlink.net> >Reply-To: jlfchat@earthlink.net >To: GEIGER-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: RE: [GEIGER] Re: Gieger/Rowell >Date: Sat, 21 Feb 2004 8:9:41 -0500 > > >Susan, > >These people are in my line also. Thanks Gerry... Never type anything on the way out of the door particularly when you are traveling towards a place like South Carolina....like a brain blip.... Nancy also pointed out the goof. Told her I was just making up genealogy info to spice things up a bit! Thanks for mailing that other Geiger info back to me. I had indeed lost it with everything else. I have been trying to get a bunch of info on many lines back into the computer and had not gotten to the Geiger info yet to see what was missing. Know I missed some info on the Lane/Geiger lines...but most I had printed out to my files so I didn't loose all of it. But thanks again for the rest of the info. It is unfortunate that you had more complete and verifiably accurate info and they choose to take the old info. Some of these bad records will never get corrected I am afraid...so few people are verifying sources when they can. I went to Mississippit this summer and tried to find info in Simpson County. NO luck...not in town long enough. Did see the "town" of Westville where Cornelius was...as well as Lewis. Also in Hattiesburg where the Geiger Printing company stands.... Wish I had more time to investigate the graves around there. Still cannot find when and where Cornelius died. Oh well, one day maybe. Glad I caught your note to Frankie or I would have never seen the original message. That was the only child I could not find...what a break!!! Hope all is well with you..........glad to hear from you to be sure! Susan
