Marty, you're very welcome. I enjoyed the challenge. BTW, that picture you scanned is beautiful! The duplicate witness name is likely the person the child was named for. In my SWT GEIGER records, I see a lot of those. Like Godparents, the witnesses were usually relatives or very close friends (and I think there is a better name than witness, but can't think what it is). You have a lot of good clues there - as soon as Roland tells us what those names really are! I'm not at all sure about "Vitus". The early German script held a lot of surprises. We'll see.
