    2. I've always wondered about this deed. Has anyone seen the original? Does the original include "(or Geiger)" or did somebody add those words when they abstracted it? You can't believe how many times I've found significant differences between the hand-written original records and the published abstracts. ----- Original Message ----- From: <giegerg@hotmail.com> To: <GEIGER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, May 23, 2004 11:50 PM Subject: [GEIGER] Heirs of Ulrich Kegar Deed to Christopher Bunce (16 Jan 1814) > > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: GEIGER, Kegar, Hoofman, Bunce > Classification: Deed > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JOY.2ACEB/892 > > Message Board Post: > > State of Georgia } > This Indenture made the sixteenth day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifteen and in the thirty ninth year of the Independence of the United States of America between John Geiger, Abraham Geiger and Mary[sic.Mercy] his wife, Mary Hoofman, Cornelius Geiger and Rebecca his wife, and Felix Geiger and Mary his wife, all of the said State and County of Bulloch of the one part, and Christopher Frederick Bunce of the State and County aforesaid, planter of the other part; Witnesseth that the said John Geiger, Abraham Geiger and Mercy his wife, Mary Hoofman, Cornelius Geiger and Rebecca his wife, and Felix Geiger and Mary his wife, legal heirs of Ulrich Kegar (or Geiger) deceased for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars to them in hand well and truly paid by the said Christopher Frederick Bunce, at or before the sealing and delivery of these instruments, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged; They the said John Geiger! > , Abraham Geiger and Mercy his wife, Mary Hoofman, Cornelius Geiger and Rebecca his wife, and Felix Geiger and Mary his wife, Have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, released and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, release and confirm unto the said Christopher Frederick Bunce and to his heirs and assigns forever all that parcel of land being four fifths of a Tract originally on the second day of June, Anno Domini, one thousand [seven] hundred and sixty seven granted to Ulrich Kegar for three hundred acres the said four fifths of said tract of land containing agreeable to the Original grant, two hundred and forty acres and by an accurate resurvey thereof made the 2nd day of December 1814, three hundred and twenty acres as will more fully appear by reference to the platt of said resurvey hereunto annexed, Situate lying and being at the date of these presents in the said County on the south side of Great Ogechee River immediately above the flat ford! > butting and bounding North East by the said river North West to land > of Stephen Denmark, South West by land of Denmark and land of John Geiger and South East by residue of said tract containing one fifth part belonging to the said John Geiger, Together with all and singular, the houses, Buildings and improvements, Rents, Issues, Profits, Privileges, Commodities and all the right, Title, Interest, Inheritance, Property, Benefit, Claim and demand, whatsoever to the said four fifth's of the said tract of land and all appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining: to have and to hold the said four fifths of the said tract of land, and all and singular, the premises above mentioned with their and every of their rights, Members and appurtenances; together with all and singular, the writings touching or in any wise Concerning the Same to the only proper use and benefit and behoof of the said Christopher Frederick Bunce, his heirs and assigns forever, and the said John Geiger, Abraham Geiger and Mercy his wife, Mary Hoofman, Cornelius! > Geiger and Rebecca his wife, Felix Geiger and Mary his wife, their Heirs, Executors and administrators, the said four fifths of the said tract of land, and premises above mentioned and all and every part and parcel thereof unto the said Christopher Frederick Bunce, his heir and assigns, against them the said John Geiger, Abraham Geiger and Mercy his wife, Mary Hoofman, Cornelius Geiger and Rebecca his wife, and Felix Geiger and Mary his wife their heirs, Executors and administrators and assigns against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will forever warrant and defend by these presents.
