    2. In a message dated 4/4/2004 10:41:41 PM Eastern Standard Time, dww1962@bellsouth.net writes: What is the Geiger town Booklet? Bonita Wright ---- Glad you asked because I think some list members have forgotten that recently someone posted that they were looking for this booklet and wanted a copy if anyone had one. There is a little town in Berks County, PA named for the GEIGER family who descend from Paul Geiger who arrived in PA in 1749 from Berwangen, Germany. The booklet is only 35 pages and is more concerned with the history and churches and industry of the town than it is with genealogy--there is NO genealogy in the booklet but it would be of interest to descendants of this GEIGER family and other early families of this little town as some of the early residents of the town are named in the booklet. Please don't ask me to send copies of the booklet if you have no connection to this GEIGER family as the booklet won't be of any help to others at all. For those who want to see if they think they MIGHT be descended from this family they will get more information from the article about the family on the GEIGER website. You will find the article here: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~geiger/webpages/pgeiger.html Joan

He died on the 30th and was buried on the Friday for anyone out there who are keeping records He has kept the Gieger Wagnon reunions going since the passing of all Jessie's and Mary's children. 1. [GEIGER] Andrew Bermetz and Elizabeth Geiger
    2. Salü, a couple of years ago in a local library I got a copy of "A Brief Summary of the Visit of Mary E. Brandon to Germany in June, 1937", prepared and presented with her love and affection for all the descendants of Andrew Bermetz and Elizabeth Geiger. Mary Brandon's husband was Bill Brandon and they sailed the S.S. Normandy back home in Juli 1937. It seems they were on a genealogical tour. They were looking for the Bermetz family at Lindau, Germany, near the Swiss-German-border. Another name is mentioned, Kliebenschedel, "whose wife was the sister of our Dad". It seems that Mary's or Bill's grandmother had been a Geiger with the first name "Elizabeth". They met Elizabeth's brother Matthias, a widower living on a farm about five hours walk from Fuessen, Germany, on June 18, 1937. And finally we get an explanation: Years ago there were three Bermetz Brothers. David had a son Andresas, Mary's Father. Andreas hat a son Andreas and Georg a son Matthias. "Thus endeth our story. I could easily be constructed into a novel. The characters are real and wholesome. Time will not permit that the tale be written in a more interesting fashion. Nevertheless we have attempted to present the facts that we im America who are descended from Andrew Bermetz and Elizabeth Geiger, those two you adventurers who left Germany 65 years ago, may have some definite knowledge nd a specific picture of our ancestral nativity. We hope that you enjoy the story. We trust that you will preserve it for those who are to follow. Lovingly, Mary and Bill Brandon" Then they met Franz Christa (without telling the relation) who lived at Fussen, Bavaria, Germany, Sonnenstrasse 9. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Geiger, Heimbach Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JOY.2ACEB/887 Message Board Post: Does anyone have any information on the ancestors of Eva (1793-1889) and Susannah Geiger (1801-1881) who married Philip and Peter Heimbach? One message board gives their parents as Henry Geiger (1767-1836) and Mary Hill or Holl (1771-). It appears from other postings that this was not the Col. Henry Geiger of the Northampton Militia, although they were in the same locality. I would greatly appreciate any information.
