    3. Beverly, we have discussed this several times and I thought the last time we had gone back to her...I don't have the documentation here, but believe it is in the Emanuel Henry Martin Book...anyway, I am beginning to believe that you are right...considering what I got back from Deborah. >From: "Beverly&Brynne" <[email protected]> >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: Re: [GEIGER] German Baptists/N orth America >Date: Mon, 25 Sep 2000 09:08:44 -0500 > >Elizabeth Donnom is not our ancestor. 3. Recently, I was sent a column called "Sunday Punch", written by John CARTER. It is dated 2 May 1999 and MAY have come from the New Smyrna Beach, Florida, paper. Mr. Carter writes about growing up in Jacksonville, Florida, with his grandparents. This is what prompted my cousin to send it to me: His grandfather was "a Georgia Cracker named Henry David CARTER" and his grandmother was Lillian Catherine GEIGER. She was born in Jacksonville in 1901 to "a father, a politically powerful judge named Jack GEIGER, who himself was born in Hilliard, up near the Georgia line." I can't place this family, but maybe someone else can. Anne C.

    3. This is the same dilemma we have experienced before...Our John Martin's son James Martin (b ca1756), was married twice...His second wife Mary (surname unk) signed a Deed in Bryan County GA about 1814-15 wherein she names daughters Tobitha who married Jessie Gieger, Sabra who married Bryan Welch, Delilah, Tolitha Ball, son Emanuel Henry Martin and others as heirs of her husband, James. None of the descendants you list are these people. There is a mix-up somewhere...albeit I don't have the Deed with me right now, but seems that a Barak Gibbons might have been mentioned.... >From: Deborah Byrd <[email protected]> >To: "Gerald Gieger" <[email protected]> >Subject: Re: [GEORGIA] Margaret Donnom 1802 >Date: Sun, 24 Sep 2000 08:53:46 -0600 > >Elizabeth Donnom was the daughter of Daniel Donnom/Dunham and Elizabeth >Osgood of Liberty county GA. 3. The German Baptist Brethern(Dunkers/Tunkers) are now a part of the Church of the Brethern, so I would suppose that our Martins may have been related to those which Joan speaks of, albeit remotely... We need German Baptist Brethern documentation on Rev. John Martin who married Elizabeth Donnom... ...and these Martin's might be the link between both the Northern (German) line and the Southern (Swiss) line, since Elam Virgil Martin's book on Emanuel Henry Martin says Rev. Hi, Thanks so much for your reply. Johannes is said to have come from Alase Lorraine but I have no proff of this yet. Even though he was a poor man he came as a freeman with his passage already paid, perhaps by by family who was already in America.
