BJ: In 1988 I published the following article: "Geiger Families of Nineteenth Century Baltimore City" in the Maryland Genealogical Society Bulletin vol. 29 (Summer 1998) no. 3, pp. 213-232. Married (1) Rosanna Isabella Gorsuch 17 April 1879. She died 13 Sep 1888. Baltimore City administration accounts identify her children and husband as of 2 Nov 1888. Geiger married (2) Magdalena Melis who was born 2 Aug 1856. She died 2 May 1948; residence 2024 East Baltimore Street. John W. H. Geiger died 14 May 1908. He and both of his wives are interred in Greenmount Cemetery (Northeast number 77). For example John Ammon born June 28, 1755 married Elizabeth Jane Geiger. The book on the Geigers of Geigertown by Annie Rettew Hunter lists this John Ammon as the son of George Ammon, but the copy I have has that name "George" crossed out and "Philip" written in for his name. A note on the front of the copy states that the book was reviewed by Anna Honch Witmar and that the notes are in her handwriting. Joan
I heard from another researcher that she thinks the AMMON surname appeared in the Geigertown Geiger's bible records. Does anyone have any of these bible records? Maggie Kyger Miller ([email protected])

So in the next few month we will be making a change to Sprint Broadband. This is radio waves. I will not suffer disconnection any more, or wait for change of page. Anyway my new address is going to be my home web page: [email protected] see you all there. Cindi Family Webpage. http://www.MyFamily.com. Click on cindimjohnson50.

Jim, This is my friend's reply.....we descend from Felix's son, Allen Bethel Geiger. Mary
Hi, Jeanette: My grandmother was a GEIGER. Her 3rd great-grandfather was Abraham GYGER, born 1687 Haslach, SG, SWT (wife: Cathrina SCHELLIG). Abraham, his brother - former Cantonal Gov. Hans Jacob GYGER, and the latter's son Herman GYGER brought their families to Charleston, SC, in 1737. All went to the Orangeburg area and changed the spelling of name to GEIGER, but some years later, Abraham's son, Hans Ulrich GEIGER, now grown and married, removed his family to Effingham Co., GA. Ulrich's son was Felix; his son was John Martin, who removed to FL about 1833; his son was Anson, his daughter was Victoria, my grandmother. You might want to check the IGI database at LDS Family History Center. I found a lot of GEIGERs listed throughout the German part of SWT - probably all related in some way.
