    3. *HI ALL: Not sure if I posted this info to the List today, but if I didnt, here is the latest update that I have gotten from the LDS NEWS list I'm on, called 'GEMS'. Info for subscribing is below. this is an LDS NEW LIST ... if you are not LDS, you might not be interested in it, or maybe you might. Below is the info on the shooting in SLC at the FHC today. Tom .... thanks for being concerned about me...but NO, I didnt go to SLC to the FH Library there... I go to the FHC here in my little town.... This was really sad what happened..... To: LDSWORLD-GEMS@LISTS.LDSWORLD.COM >> >>The situation in Salt Lake City has finally stabilized this evening. >>Police spent the afternoon searching the Family History Library for a >>suspected second gunman, but did not find any sign. There were also >>possible reports of explosives in the building, but none were found. >> >>The suspect in the attack, who died of a gunshot wound this afternoon, >>was identified this evening as a Salt Lake resident who is a diagnosed >>schizophrenic, who has not been taking medication. The weapon was >>apparently a 22-caliber semi-automatic pistol. >> >>Two people were killed by the gunman, a Church-employed security guard and >>a female patron in the library. Their names have not been released. >> >>Four people were wounded and taken to local hospitals. Their names and >>conditions were identified by Salt Lake City mayor Deedee Corradini in a >>press conference this evening as: >>- a 45-year-old woman, shot in the shoulder, in fair condition >>- an 80-year-old woman, shot in the face, in fair condition >>- a 71-year-old woman, shot in the head, in serious condition >>- a male, age unknown, in stable condition >> >>The other concern during the afternoon was that a truck, suspected to be >>tied to the individual, was found in the parking lot behind the library. >>There were concerns that the truck may have been filled with explosives or >>drums of gasoline. The buildings in the downtown neighborhood were all >>evacuated, and the police spent the afternoon carefully examining >>the truck. Late this afternoon it was determined that the truck was not a >>danger, and was probably not related to the gunman. >> >>See further information on the Deseret News webpage: >> http://www.desnews.com/ *NOTE FROM TINA: MY 25 yr old dtr shares a house with another young woman, and the young woman's PARENTS are on a mission for the LDS CHURCH, as staff at the SALT LAKE CITY FH LIBRARY!!! The mother of this young woman had a doctor's appt. this morning, which made them arrive late for their shift at the family history library (FHL). Her regular job there, where she WOULD HAVE BEEN working this morning, was at the front desk....which is where the woman got SHOT AND KILLED BY THE GUNMAN! Wow! Pretty scary!
