Jethro DEAN, born 1780s and died in 1847. Jethro married Sofia PEACOCK (born 1792) about 1808, and spent most of thier married life in Wilkinson C0, GA. He was born in North Carolina per the 1820, 1830 and 1840 Census, where he was located in Wilkinson Co, Georgia. Jethro and Sofia were members of the Popular Springs Methodist Church, near Irwinton, Ga, where Jethro was a Trustee in 1828. Their children included Elizabeth (1808) who married William VanLandingham (My GGGparents) in 1826 ; James (1810) who married Rachael Davis in 1833; Lewis (1812) who married Martha Jane O'Bannon in 1835; Calvin (1814) who married Jerusha Van Landingham in 1842 and Elizabeth Chambers in 1850 ; Sarah who married Jason Stuckey in 1838; Martha (1820) who married Lewis Levi Peacock in 1842 ; Lemanda who married James Goodman in 1849; Nancy who married Robert Goodman in 1849; Celia who married Seaborn Reese in 1846. I have information about several grandchildren of Jethro and Sofia Dean and a copy of the Will of Jethro Dean. Jethro's Grandfather was Daniel DEAN, born in the mid 1700s and lived in Nash Co, NC. Daniel’s wife was named Sarah CROMWELL ?, and their children were Talisha, Elizabeth, Sarah, John, George, Bartholomew, Daniel Jr, James, and Dempsey. He fought in the Revolutionary War, became a Methodist Preacher and moved to Wayne Co, North Carolina. Jethro's Father was James DEAN was born in Wayne Co, NC and practiced law there in the late 1700s and early 1800s. He was a member of the NC House of Representatives in 1809.
