Hi Everyone, The following passport is found in Special Publication of the National Genealogical Society No. 28, _Passports Issued by Governors of Georgia, 1785 to 1809_ and _Passports Issued by Governors of Georgia, 1810 to 1820_, by Mary G. Bryan, with _Index of Persons Receiving Passports, 1785 to 1820_, by Wm. H. Dumont. This set was published in Arlington, VA, 1964. [Page number is from the original record, and not the cited publication.] Page 350--Monday 4th May 1812 On application ORDERED That passports be prepared for the following persons to travel through the Indian Nations to the Western Country, viz, One for MR. ZADCOCK SIMMONS with his son JOHN SIMMONS and nine negroes from Anson County North Carolina, and one for Messrs. JETT THOMAS of Baldwin, and ALEXANDER THOMAS of Ogelthorpe, the former with sixteen negroes--and also GEORGE W. RODGERS--Which were presented and signed. Zadock SIMMONS and his son, John, are my ancestors; they used this passport to migrate to Wilkinson County, GA, and lived there for the remainder of their lives.
