Since the original posting I've discovered Jospeh Howell Toler and Caroline Wilson Toler of Wilkinson Co. had 13, perhaps 14, children. A family Bible lists Caroline's maiden name as "Wilson," although Wilkes was widely disseminated by the Maddox books. Caroline's 91-year-old granddaughter says it was "Wilson" as well, so we're all looking for further confirmation of either..
