*HELLO ALL: The below LENGTHY & INFORMATIVE email was sent to me by a wonderful lady on the EDGECOMBE CO.NC list I am on! Below is ALOT of good info on some families that are related to my MITCHELL WATKINS family of Edgec.Co.NC/Wash.Co.GA/Wilkinson Co.GA, mainly the CHERRY family....Willis, William, Samuel.... believe these are "our" Cherrys! The info she sent is long, but well worth going thru for names, dates, places, relationships! I will thank her for all of us!!! *TINA/CA* List Mgr. Tina Am always glad to exchange notes or help any way possible. Have also noticed the names Crisp, Lewelling and Whitley have ties to Conetoe Ck. Taylors. My Taylor line came from the Grindal Creek area of Pitt Co. and moved to western Edge. Co. about 1800. Grindal Creek is near Conetoe Creek, an area where there was a Taylor family, but not certain they were related to my Taylor line. I believe this Conetoe Creek Taylor family had ties to Norfolk Co, Va., which is where I now live. In 1764 the Taylor, Cherry and Wallace family were all represented in Norfolk Co. At the present time, I am working on Edge. Co. deeds to try to sort the Taylor lines. Let me know if you see any connections to your lines. Have the following deeds that mention Cherry and Wallace; also threw in a couple that mention Watkins: Edge. Co. Db 10, page 337, date of deed 25 May 1802, date recorded Aug.
