That was a very good question about how to get a will from Wilkinson County. In Taylor County, you can write to the Probate Judge's office at the courthouse....give them the exact date (and page number in the will book if you have it) and then include $1.00 and they will make a copy for you. I think the theory is that they can "copy", but not "research". Does this work with Wilkinson County? Also IF you have any wills, please do type them up and submit them to the GAGenWeb Archives by sending them to: Carla Cegielski@ncweb.com She will post them permanently there with your e-mail attached so that people can contact you. The SURNAME will come up in the Search Engine for the Archives, no matter what county/state you are in to start the search. If you've not visited the GA Archives site....do... http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ga/gafiles.htm Some material (like Bibles) are posted as a State, while things like Deeds are posted within the County....so be sure to visit what's there for Wilkinson County!
