DEAR FAYE & ALL: Just took another look at your updated website (HOOKS site but MANY other names....thousands of families, many of early NC & Ga lines, incl. many of our WILKINSON CO. lines).... It's great! I'm still stumped as to the family my PRUDENCE HOOKS b. 1788 (m. John Holleman) belongs to! I have thought for some time, and still do, even more now that I've looked at your updated Pedigrees of the Hooks' around that time period, that she must be possibly the GR'DAUGHTER of THOMAS HOOKS SR. & ANNA BELOTTE. Think she is probably sister to WHITMELL, HILLARY, THOS., JR., CHARLES, WILLIAM, and the rest of the gang. Why? Because they are in the same area (Wilkes/Putnam/Wilkinson Co. GA around the same time she is, with husband JOHN HOLLIMAN/HOLLEMAN b. 1785 GA), and the HOOKS family mentioned above was in DUPLIN CO.NC earlier, and that's the county where another related family was , MITCHELL WATKINS, SR..... this family is related in Washington/Wilkinson Co.GA a generation or two or three later..... I'm wondering, since PRUDENCE does not show up in any family group anywhere so far under the name PRUDENCE HOOKS (and I have not found any other female born 1788 GA as she is, in the family), so I'm wondering: 1. Could PRUDENCE be a nickname or is there another nickname for Prudence, that perhaps she used at a different time? (Not Nancy, Polly, Mary I suppose) 2. Could her name PRUDENCE HOOKS be a PREVIOUS MARRIED NAME???? I hadnt considered that before, but now I am considering EVERYTHING!!! MAYBE SHE WAS not a Hooks by blood, but by marriage????? BOB KINGERY, does any of this sound remotely possible, and have you had any luck with this branch of our family????? It's YOURS too, so I'll ask you about it!
