HI KATHY: I would suggest the following for your brickwall..... Go to WHAT YOU KNOW abt those ancestors..... Willis was b. 1815, so he prob. shows up on 1850 Census, right? Of course, he would be marr. then, to Eliz.?? If so, look at that census and see WHERE HE WAS BORN, WHERE SHE WAS BORN. Then, if Wilkinson Co., go back a decade to next census.... Look at the 1840 Census, and see if you see a STAPLETON family in the same area in 1840, and chances are pretty good he is one of those children. It wont give names of kids though...that started with the 1850. But 1840 gives #'s of children/boys or girls, of different age groups. Also, see if 1850 Cato inlaws are living nearby. Look also for those inlaws on 1840.... if they are, then go back to 1830, check and see if Stapletons are still there, and Catos..... keep going back, and chances are if they are there, you may ahve your family.... But that's not ALL you should check of course. Lots of different resources .... i will post again here a list of good resources for Wilkinson Co. to check out .... Have you looked at the ANCESTRAL FILE & IGI from the LDS FHC (family history center)? You can also view it online by going to www.familysearch.org. There are many many resources....I will post some others in a minute.... best, TINA/CA List Mgr.
