I am researching VINSON's and SIMS and WRIGHT The VINSON's are from Wilkinson Co. GA, Talbot Co. GA and Butler Co. AL. The WRIGHT's are from Washington CO. GA, Lee Co. AL. This SIMS line (I descend from two SIMS lines) is from Butler Co., AL, Dale Co. AL, Barbour Co. AL and Pike Co. GA. (Just for your info, but not to confuse the issue, my OTHER SIMS line is the Sherrod SIMS and Rev. A. T. SIMS line from Butler Co. AL and Lancaster Co. SC, for those interested.) My great, great grandparents were Charles Moses VINSON and Sarah WRIGHT. I have evidence that they married in Talbot Co. GA under the name of VINSIN. Charles was born in Wilkinson Co, GA in 1813 and died in Butler Co., AL in 1895. We believe Sarah's family (WRIGHT) was originally from Washington Co. GA and later migrated to Lee Co. AL, Her parents were, Samuel WRIGHT and Elizabeth WILMOTH, and are both buried near Auburn. We are not sure if Sarah was born in GA or AL, but her birth year is 1819. She died in Butler Co. AL, but I have a conflict on her death date of either 7-23-1899 or 4-8-1908. The children of Charles and Sarah were (all of Butler Co. AL): Uriah C. (U. C.) VINSON m. 1) Susie A. FLOWERS and 2) Callie R. McKENZIE T. J. VINSON m. Mattie E. BINON Earnest A. VINSON m. Kate TAYLOR Frances V. VINSON m. Jame M. SIMS (my great grandparents) Mary V. VINSON m. James M. HARRIS My great grandfather, James M. SIMS, was a partner in the mercantile business with his brother-in-law, U. C. VINSON in Georgiana (Butler CO.) AL in the late 1800's and early 1900's. If anyone is researching VINSON or VINSIN in any of these counties spanning the early 1800's to the mid to late 1800's I would be pleased for you to contact me to exchange notes. I am particularly interested in pursuing the parentage of Charles Moses VINSON, who are unconfirmed, and continuing on the lineage of Sarah WRIGHT (some of which I already have). I have much on both SIMS lines and am always happy and willing to share my info on those lines, as well. And am always interested in adding to those and sorting things out. Thank You, Cindy (Sims) Kirkland
