*HI ALL: Does anyone come from t his same JACKSON/SMITH family as I do? I'd love to learn a bit more about THOMAS and where he's from, who his parents/kin are. He may be a brother to "James Jackson", dont know for sure. ****SEE BELOW**** THOMAS JACKSON b. 1795 "GA" or SC? may have mar. "Ellen Reed", and a Smith woman. His daughter, MARTHA (mine) b. 1827 m. DAVID W. SMITH Their son, WILLIAM WASHINGTON SMITH b. 1850 m. Lucy Jane Holliman Their daughter, LUCY ALMA SMITH b. 1892 m. Rufus Wyman Keene Above couple are my grandparents. *** Questions: 1850 Wilkinson Co. census shows who I *think* is prob. my THOMAS JACKSON, age 55, farmer, born GA (but somewhere else I've seen he was born SC). This shows NANCY CRUTCHFIELD b. NC, age "50" or "80", I can't make it out. Also in the home, SEABORN JACKSON, 24; Mary Jackson, 17, Martha (mine?) & Mark both age 14 (twins?), living near THOMAS HOOKS, age 31, who is related to my Jackson/Keen/Kingery/Holliman/Smith families. **** 1860 census: HIGH HILL, WILKINSON CO. HH#569 THOMAS 65, farmer, 6000 & 714 GA Sarah, 21 housekeeper (doubt if it's a WIFE!) Elizabeth 8 living next to Dixon's and Ussery's, also both of whom are related. THEN, ALSO LIVING IN HIGH HILL, HH# 585, HIS DAUGHTER: DAVID W. SMITH 32 farmer AMANDA SMITH (nee Jackson) 33 Joel A. Smith, 12; Wm. Washington Smith, 10 (my gr grandfather); Martha A. Smith, 8; Mary F. , 4; Julia A. Smith, 4/12; Susan Sjith, 76 (Susan(nah Hogan) who mar. Saml Smith of Anson Co.NC); David E____, 24, "carpenter', may not be related. Smiths and Stuckey's nearby.... also related. WM. W. SMITH my gr grandfather grew up and mar. Lucy Jane Holliman, then he m/2 "Eulie" STUCKEY. Prob. of the family next door! Would LOVE to hear from anyone with info on these lines, or related thereto! Havent done much on this THOMAS JACKSON line of mine but would love to now!
