I have a Walden mentioned on the 1804 and 1805 Jefferson Co. Tax Lists as owning adjoining land to James McDonald. No first name was mentioned. James McDonald had a daughter named Mary Kirk (married to a Kirk and I believe they lived in Montgomery Co NC). I have not found any other daughters. Other names mentioned in the will: sons: James, Matthews, Jared (or Jacob), William; John Morris, Moses Nedwton, S. Samuel Batey and Mary Robinson. Do you recognize any of these names? James's wife's name was Sarah Matthews (died 1799) and we do notice land exchanges between James and Jacob and Michael Matthews in Jefferson Co. (I'm just throwing out names in case you recognize anyone) Moses Newton was a war hero or something who seemed to be a trustee to many people's wills, etc in Jefferson Co. I tried also to see if there was a connection between him and the McDonalds but have not found any.
