    3. I noticed a few Probate Court records which are of interest. John Gabriel Jones (1801-1881), son of Joseph Jones, served as Security for Savil Dixon on several legal proceedings. Does anyone know if there was more to this than they were probably neighbors? Joseph Maddox' Book Historical Collections of Wilkinson County noted Savil Dixon nee Stokes and widow of Sampson, b. 1799, in the 1860 and 1880 censuses of Wilkinson County with the following family: John, b. 1834 m. Reba Mathis; Laura, b. 1837 m. Mr. Booth; William H. b. 1839; Martin b. 1840. Rosann? (Usual disclaimer...Mr. Maddox was known to have made errors but info may be helpful...). The probate records were: 5/1843 - John G. Jones, Security for Savil Dixon, Admx. Dismissed lliability and John Obananon received as security in his stead, estate of Sampson Dixon. 8/1844 - John G. Jones, security for Savil Dixon, Admx., makes court complaint vs. Ms. Savil Dixon. 3/1845 - John G. Jones gives Savil Dixon until next court to replace her as Security in Admin of Sampson Dixon Estate. 5/1845 - John G. Jones, replaced as Security for Savil Dixon, Admx., by John Obanon. 6/1845 - John G. Jones, Security for Savil Dixon dismissed from Liability; replaced by John Obanon. Thanks. W. 3. Chris - Thanks for the probate summary concerning Savil; she is my g/g/g/grandmother through son, Jeremiah. I have a great deal more information on the Dixon's but nothing that relates them to the Jones. I will keep my eye open for such possibilities, however.
