Ok in Aug 2000 Family tree magazine it talks about the genweb census project. the first address listed is www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/census/inv from the article, this seems to lead to transcriptions of the records. The last sentence of the paragraph which I hadn't noticed before says "You'll also find actual images of census pages at www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/cen_img.htm Sorry I don't have a home computer to check the site out before listing it here but if it works and turns out to be a good site would someone post back.
