From: Motaatom Where is the location of the cemetery of the original Myrtle Springs Baptist Church? My 4th greatgrandfather, Cader Sawyer, is listed as an early member of the church. Sincerely, Charles Riner
According to Joseph Maddox in "Wilkinson County Georgia Historical Collections", Myrtle Springs Primitive Baptist Church was first located one mile west of what is now Toomsboro on the old Irwinton road. When the split between the Baptist churches came in 1837, Myrtle Springs became associated with the Primitive Baptist Association. The church was relocated in a populous community several miles south of Toomsboro. Hope this helps. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, June 04, 2003 10:14 PM Subject: [GAWILKIN-L] Myrtle Springs Baptist Church cemetery From: Motaatom Where is the location of the cemetery of the original Myrtle Springs Baptist Church?
