    3. I have every confidence that I am right, though as one long time researcher said, it may never be proved but she felt it was correct. The info on the net is wrong. My father knew his grandfather, Henry Davis, husband of Mary Ann Boon, and he had the family bible until it was stored in a trunk in a barn and the rats got into it. I have just a few scraps left but, not that particular item. We have an original portrait of Henry Davis, husband of Mary Ann Boon. The connection was close. Ivey Della Davis, sister to your Ferd and my Henry, family, had the same info and a cousin of mine in Alabama saw the their bible in the '70's, copied the information, swore to seeing it. The bible has since disappeared somewhere within a branch of the family, hopefully. A Daugher of Ivey Della, Bea Fourtney, had the bible but she had no children and we dont know what happened to the bible when she died. That is the bible my cousin copied info out of in the '70's. The relative in Texas is named for her grandmother Satsy Ella, who changed her name to Patsy. ONe researcher figured out if Mary Ann was the daughter of Jacob Boon and Sallie Franklin (?) or whatever is on the internet, Sallie would have been 50 years old. A couple of well known researchers of the Boon(e) line but not of our Ratliff & Sassy line, feel that there is a strong case for this information but, it may be hard to prove. Since I feel confident I am right, it doesnt matter to me what is out on the internet or whatever. Sometimes people have a hard time changing. I have a copy of the picture of "Ferd" as an old man. It goes with the picture of my grandfather, Henry, Ferd's brother. Good to meet you. I can't help with any definitive answers. The very few people researching my branch have the info that you dispute. You may very well be right. Were there two or more Mary Ann's? Maybe that is the problem and someone made an erroneous assumption. Family bibles tend to be pretty good sources. The name patterns are a good clue. But, they are sometimes misleading. For example, one family I am researching has a child named Banner in almost every household in a couple of generations. The census info should be pretty good. But, still confusing if there is more than one Mary Ann. I don't know if there is. It's just something to check out. Finding that may help prove you right and explain the error. Let me know what you think. >
