Richard Sampson Smith's parents are Archibald Smith and Elizabeth Lewis Smith. I'm not sure the middle name Bryant is accurate for this Archibald. There were two Archibald Smith's close to the same age living in Wilkinson Co, GA so it can be very confusing. The Archibald Smith (father of Richard and husband to Elizabeth Lewis) you are researching belongs to Sampson Smith and his wife Sophie Seals. Joseph Maddox, while trying to help connect families, made quite a few mistakes in his books. His stating the Archibald B. Smith, son of William and Athlea Smith, married Elizabeth Lewis was one of those mistakes. My G-Grandfather, William Sampson Smith (born 1875 in Wilkinson Co, GA), was Archibald & Elizabeth Lewis Smith's grandson. He compiled some research before he died at the age of 94. At the time of his research, a Smith Family Bible existed; however, it has since been destroyed in a house fire. I will be willing to swap information if you are interested. Joy Carroll
