Classification: Marriage Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/He.2ADE/994 Message Board Post: I am not related to these people, but while researching the Ward line in Fayette County, Georgia, I ran across a deed dated Aug. 25, 1823 from Thomas Lewis and Margaret Lewis of Wilkinson County, Georgia to Samuel Ward of Fayette County, Georgia. Following the deed record was an affidavit of Solomon Ward of Wilkinson County, Georgia, stating that he witnessed the land transaction of Thomas Lewis and Margaret Lewis, his wife, to Samuel Ward. The deed and affidavit are in Deed book A, page 54. If anyone needs additional evidence of Thomas Lewis’ wife this would help.
