I believe he was married to Mary Cobb in Baldwin County in 1812. He may have moved to Alabama after 1850. There was a Sarah Mathews, age 87 listed on the 1850 census of Wilkinson County, Ga. as head of household. I believe that Levi Mathews who married Sarah A.E. Cobb may have been a son of Elijah.
