Per the 1850 census, Harriet Dixon heads her household, & is mother of Romulus, Martin & Roannah Josephine. In 1850, 1860 & 1870, she is listed as residing beside widow Savil Dixon, presumably her mother. In 1880, Harriet Dixon, when asked of her marital status, indicates "widow" for the census taker. If true, this would make Harriet Dixon a daughter-in-law to Sampson & Savil Dixon of Wilkinson County. My question: Did Sampson & Savil Dixon have a son that married Harriet, and died in the 1840s?
